Gemini + Foundation Integration - SUCCESS! 🎉

Overview

The “Bundled Adapter Pattern” integration between Foundation and Gemini libraries has been successfully implemented and tested!

What Was Accomplished

1. Foundation Side Integration ✅

  • GeminiAdapter Module: Pre-existing, well-implemented adapter at lib/foundation/integrations/gemini_adapter.ex
  • Telemetry Attachment: Successfully attaches to Gemini telemetry events using :telemetry.attach_many/4
  • Event Processing: Converts Gemini telemetry events to Foundation events and stores them
  • Conditional Compilation: Added to avoid compilation issues when Gemini is not available

2. Gemini Library Telemetry ✅

  • Telemetry Instrumentation: Successfully added to gemini_ex library
  • Event Types: Captures gemini_request_start, gemini_request_stop, gemini_request_exception
  • Rich Metadata: Includes function name, URL, model, HTTP method, content type, and timing information

3. Example Application ✅

  • Complete Working Example: examples/gemini_integration/ demonstrates the integration
  • Application Structure: Proper OTP application with supervisor tree
  • Configuration: Environment-based API key configuration
  • Test Tasks: Comprehensive testing tasks to verify integration

Running the Integration

Using in Your Application

Conclusion
